Ernie Wins the Day

Four golfers, Ernie, Duke, Larry and Don, competed today with a 100° plus heat index. Ernie posted +3 and sad to say for the rest of us that was good enough to win by 6. Do the math.

An event occurred today that may require a new nickname for Duke. With Duke driving and Ernie as passenger, Duke came out of the woods on number 6 Azalia, hit a stump and went air borne. Sand bottles, personal cooling devices and golfers went flying. No major injuries but requests for Aleve were heard. In the future hold on tight in case you are riding with Duke "Stump" Sudlow.

Team Competition

HOT! HOT! HOT!

Eight regulars and one guest, Jim Williamson, braved the first hot day on the course. 98° with a sleight breeze.

Louis, Larry and Brent made a clean sweep today with +2 on the front and +6 on the back for +8 overall.

Jim, Jack and Ron were -1 and +2 for a total of +1

Bob, Don and Tommy also stumbled a little on front with -.5 and finished a little stronger on the back with +3.5 to finish +3 overall.

Team Competition

Ten men threw there balls into a hat today for an opportunity to prove their manliness on Azalia/Dogwood.  Some succeeded while others failed.

The team of Ron, Larry and Brent won the front easily with +7.5 but barely made it into the positive column on the back with a +.5 which was enough to win the overall.

The team of Duke, Don and Bob avoided a clean sweep by winning the back with +5. Their +2 on the front gave them +7 for the match.

Ernie, Jack, Tommy and Marshall stayed close to even for the round with a -1.5 on the front and +.5 on the back for a total of -1.
